A Prayer for the Rwanda Team

Dear friends,

Elder Martha (St. Andrew’s), Elder Tom (Emsworth), and I are in the last stages of preparation for our study trip to Rwanda!

As we prepare for this life changing experience, please be in prayer for us. A team of 30+  from around the U.S., South Sudan, Kenya, and Rwanda will join together from March 11-22 to explore the effects of the 1994 Rwandan genocide and the efforts toward peace and reconciliation that have been made in the past 25 years.

After the conference, Pastor Charissa’s husband, Tim, and their kids, Gloria (12) and Levi (10), will join her to travel on to Uganda to spend time with friends who are doing justice work in Kampala. Pray for their family and extra learning time, as well as their friends, the Wilkes Family: Dave, Kathryn, Ian (11), and Naomi (8). The Howes will return home on April 7.

I’d like to share a prayer that you can use while praying for us:

God, grant our team good health and energy. Give them wisdom, clarity, & the words & means to share their experiences back at home. Continue to be with the people and government of Rwanda as they continue to heal. Amen.

I can’t wait to get home and share with you all about the trip!

Blessings,

Pastor Charissa
