Peace and Grace to You!

We are the members of Emsworth United Presbyterian Church, a small but mighty congregation located in the Northwest suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pa.

We worship and work together in a beautiful Victorian church building tucked back in a quiet neighborhood just off Route 65 near the intersection of Camp Horne Road. Inside, you’ll find a group of loving people who are earnestly seeking to serve Jesus in whatever ways the Holy Spirit may lead us.

Because we are a small congregation, we know each other pretty well and care for one another as best as we are able. If you visit with us, you’ll discover we are very welcoming and warm, but we won’t smother you. In fact, we think it’s important to meet people just as they are, wherever they are in their faith journey.

We enjoy trying new ways of worshiping God together. On any given Sunday morning, you may find us talking about scripture together in the pews, or tossing beach balls into the air, or baking bread together as part of the worship service. On our sanctuary walls, you see artwork painted by one of our members. You’ll see our kids hanging out with their parents in the pews, mostly singing along and praying with us. We like the old hymns, but try out new songs all the time. On the whole, though, we are pretty traditional in our worship style.

Like all good Presbyterians, we really like to eat together, so we do that whenever we can. We also really like serving God together in all sorts of ways. You’ll find our members volunteering for our local Meals on Wheels, at the Pleasant Valley Men’s Shelter on the North Side of Pittsburgh and leading worship at the Allegheny County Jail. Other members can be counted upon to remember every birthday and every anniversary, marking the occasion with calls and cards. Some of us have been to Africa to build relationships with our sister church in Malawi. We try to take tender care of one another and our community, and extend the love of Jesus into the whole world!

We worship each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. during the school months. During the summer, we worship at 10:00 .m.

We take our faith seriously, but we also like to laugh and celebrate and be with one another in service to God. We hope you’ll find something interesting about us on this website, and that you will call or visit us soon.

Peace and grace,

All of Us at Emsworth U.P. Church
