Reverend Charissa Clark Howe, Pastor

I have the joy of serving as pastor for both Emsworth UP and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Churches.

I received my undergraduate degree in Community Ministry from Geneva College and  I have a background in both youth ministry and work with the elderly before having attended seminary at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. During Seminary, I served my seminary internship for two years under Rev. Cathy Purves at Bellevue United Presbyterian Church. I graduated from PTS in 2014 with my Master of Divinity and again in 2016 with my Master’s in Theology with a focus on worship and liturgy. I was ordained in 2014 and served at Liberty Presbyterian Church near McKeesport before seeking a call closer to home.

I am involved in ministry with the Foundation of Hope at Allegheny County Jail, Kairos Prison Ministry, and two local nursing homes. I am a trained vocalist who dabbles in other instruments  enough to hack it when necessary.

I enjoy running full and half marathons.  I used to professionally teach knitting and crochet and still love fiber arts. My family and I also enjoy a  variety of outdoor activities  including: hiking, backpacking, cycling, horseback riding, and more.

I live on Observatory Hill with my husband Tim and three children, as well as a dog, two cats, two rats, and three chickens.
